The 2024 Cadillac XT5 is rumored to be the last of the first generation XT5, introduced in 2017. It retains the three T5 trims of this generation, luxury, premium luxury, and sport. The fuel-efficient 2.0L Turbo 4cyl with a 235hp engine is standard in luxury and premium trims. The Cadillac Sport has a 3.6L V6 engine with 310hp, which is also an upgrade option for premium luxury. All trims are fitted with a 9-speed auto transmission.

Cadillac XT5 Trim Levels

The Cadillac XT5 build has retained the same build style since the 2020 midcycle updates. This five-passenger luxury SUV has three trim levels, luxury, premium luxury, and sport. The new Cadillac xt5 for sale price range is significant, with the base trim edging close to $46,000 (MSRP) and the sport trim shy of $59,000 (MSRP). The premium luxury MSRP is $52,590. The Cadillac XT5 build and price give a better distinction in the Cadillac XT5 trim levels.

Cadillac Luxury Trim

The base Cadillac XT5 trim has the standard features including 18-inch wheels, proximity keyless entry, remote engine start, LED headlights fitted with automatic high beams, heated mirrors, a power liftgate, and power-adjustable front seats. Some of the tech specs include standard driver assistance, climate control, an infotainment system, and wireless connectivity.

It has a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine churning out 235hp. It is paired with a 9-speed auto transmission. The MPG is not the best, but it is also not the worst, 22 city and 29 highway. The drivetrain standard is FWD with an AWD option.

The 2024 Cadillac XT5 colors for all the trims are argent silver metallic, radiant red, stellar black metallic, emerald lake metallic, midnight sky metallic, crystal white tri-coat, and opulent blue metallic.

Cadillac Premium Luxury

The Cadillac XT5 premium luxury trim has more standard features than the luxury trim. It also offers optional packages missing in the base trim. For example, instead of the standard 2.0L turbo 235hp engine, you can upgrade to the 3.0L V6 engine with 310hp, 271 toque, and 19/26 MPG city and highway, respectively.

The technology package also has several upgrades. They include blind spot warning when changing lanes or when in reverse, a navigation system, a hands-free liftgate, driver's settings memory, auto-dimming side mirrors, automatic wipers, and a wireless charging pad.

Other features include a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker sound system, and a heated steering wheel. The interior leather upholstery is a step up from the synthetic leather in the luxury trim.

Cadillac XT5 Sport

The Cadillac XT5 has all the Premium Luxury features with some additional specs, such as a heavy-duty cooling system, sport-tuned suspension, 20-inch wheels, and an AWD drivetrain. Besides the standard 2024 Cadillac XT5 colors, the sport trim had additional options, red, blue, and bronze accents.

The smart towing package is a great addition to the V6 engine. The additional features include a towing hitch, a camera system, and an upgraded alternator. It also has a wiring harness to hitch onto a trailer.

Optional Package Addons

When you buy the Luxury trim, what you see is what you get. There is no option for upgrades. The XT5 Premium Luxury and Cadillac XT5 Sport trims offer greater flexibility. The additional packages available are technology, platinum, driver assist, and smart towing. To enjoy the Cadillac XT5 specs in the platinum and driver assist package, you must have the technology package.

• Technology Package. This addon is for the Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury vs Sport trims. Some of the added features include a digital rearview mirror, pedestrian alert sensors, and automated parking assist.
• Platinum Package. This package is loaded with features centered on comfort and luxury. They include climate control (trizone), leather dashboard, leather interior, and heated back seats. The Premium Luxury XT5 gets a tire upgrade as well, from 18-inch to 20-inch tires.
• Driver Assist Package. This package adds safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency brakes, and rear tire automatic brake sensors.

Reliability Test

JD Power gives the Cadillac XT5 a reliability consumer rating of 80/100. It was also voted third, after Lexus GX and Lexus RX in the 2024 Best Midsize Luxury SUV. The NHTSA doesn't have a safety rating for the 2024 XT5 model. However, the 2023 XT5 earned 5 stars.
